香港中樂團三月十二日下午將於倫敦大學舉行「中樂大師級講座」，歡迎各界人士參加。入場費全免。

香港中樂團並將參與「時代中國」文化盛典，於英國四大演藝場地巡迴演出。樂團85名專業演奏家，將於世界級水平之演奏場地─倫敦Royal Festival Hall (14/3)、曼徹斯特The Bridgewater Hall (15/3)、伯明翰Town Hall (17/3)及紐卡素The Sage Gateshead (18/3)，為當地觀眾帶來首首動人樂章。

香港中樂團藝術總監閻惠昌乃中國國家一級指揮，他表示：「為表現中國錦繡大地的民族性，以及展示樂團「植根傳統，融匯中西」的音樂藝術特色，音樂會特別選了五首來自不同少數民族及地區的作品。」

由王寧作曲的《慶節令》Festivities是極具傳統京戲味道，充分表現中國人在慶節時喜氣洋洋的熱鬧氣氛。國際著名作曲家趙季平曾經為特獎電影《大紅燈籠高高掛》配樂，他的《古槐尋根》Tracing our roots with the Old Pagoda Tree便反映了人們對鄉土深遠而濃厚的感情。

《黑土歌》Song of Black Earth 呈現的是中國東北黑龍江的古老鄉情，由馮少先三弦彈唱，加入了農耕器具演奏的特別元素，將掀起全場觀眾的熱烈情緒。《千章掃》A Thousand Brushstrokes for pipa & orchestra則是香港作曲家羅永暉的作品，令人聯想到古人在紙上揮筆的美態，著名琵琶演奏家王梓靜的優美琴音，正好刻畫了書畫與音符動靜兩態的和諧共融。

作結尾的是民樂大師彭修文的《秦‧兵馬俑》Terracotta Warriors Fantasia，一方是軍隊威武雄壯的氣勢，另一方是軍人對家鄉的思念，戲劇式的音樂變化必定會令觀眾為之感動。

香港中樂團是次巡迴演出獲香港特別行政區政府駐倫敦經濟貿易辦事處及民政事務局藝術發展基金的全力贊助。

The Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra (HKCO) will give a special Lecture & Demonstration on Chinese Music at the University of London to coincide with the launch of their first ever public 4 city-concerts in UK

The lecture will be a study of the heritage and evolution of traditional Chinese instrumental music through a comparison between traditional Chinese music ensembles and full sized modern Chinese orchestra. (Recording and video will be shown at the lecture)
