Mr Hong Kong Contest
Chinese Terracotta Army coming to Britain
Hong Kong 9 year old girl takes A Levels
9 year old girl, March Shum, just completed her A Level studies and could become the youngest university student in Hong Kong this autumn. Her motivation to take A level at such early age was to allow her elder brother to come to England to study. Her brother was accepted by Oxford university at 14 on the condition that a parent would accompany his stay in the UK. Home Office, however refused the father's visa because such visas are only issued for students under 12. As a result March came to UK to study A level, so that her father can obtain a much-needed dependent visa. Do you think the education system in Hong Kong pays enough attention to the smart set of students? Have you met with any problems when you applied for a visa to come to the UK?
Calvin Harris Party Mass Invite
Pop star Calvin Harris invited his fans to host simultaneous house parties next Sat (18/08/2007) and promised to show up and perform at the most original party with a cash prize of £1,500. With the recent horror stories of gate-crashers trashing the homes of MySpace members, do you think the media is right to criticise Calvin's mass invite as irresponsible? Share with us your crazy party stories.
Mr Hong Kong Contest
It is the third year running for the Mr Hong Kong Contest. Showing off their muscles, the contestants were greeted by over 600 excited females judges. Do you think this is the final proof of women's equal right? Would you take part in this kind of pageant? as a judge or as one of the contestant?
Chinese Terracotta Army coming to Britain
Good news for those who have not been able to get away for the Summer, the renown Terracotta Army of Xi'an is going to be on display in the British Museum along with other Chinese artefacts in September. It is estimated to bring in visitors from all over the world, definitely something we as Chinese people can be proud of! If you are interested in Ancient Chinese History, this will be the ideal trip to go on with the family to remind the kids of their heritage. Have you ever visited the Terracotta Army in China? Any interesting facts on Chinese History to share? What are you most proud of being Chinese?

I will definitely go to see the Chinese Terracotta Army. I have always want to go to Xian but never have the time. I think it is a real tresure on the scale and level of Stone Henge and the great wall

The media just got the worng end of the stick. The invite is just a stunt. Calvin Harris should not be responsible for people trashing previous My Space party. Let' just have some fun

August 12th, 2007 at 4:25 pm

If some singers from HK would come to my house I would definitely have a party, but not Calvin Harris. I don't really like his music
August 12th, 2007 at 4:32 pm
I watch last year Mr HK and loved it. It is great to give us girls a chance to watch the boys afte all the Miss HK. I think No7 Ben is very handsome and should be the winner. It is the right choice

I will be having a part next week for my birthday. Might try my luck to win the £1500. LOL. I don't think you will get into trouble with un-invited guests at your party if you don't let them come in.

Applying UK VIsa is always a big stress. I feel sorry for the girl and her brother. I read in the news, the father was also a child genius and has 2 Master degrees. But he was not allow to work in the UK, so the boy might not be able to afford to continue to study in Oxford. What a shame!
August 12th, 2007 at 5:25 pm
I wish I can be a child genius. Imagine finishing Uni at 12? may be become a CEO at 15 and be the next Bill Gate before your 18th birthday?? Cool or What?
August 12th, 2007 at 5:37 pm
When there is not enough money to go round for the under-priviliges in the education system, it is hard to take care of the gifted few as well. As parents we really have to fight for the best for our children. Can't depends on the state

Can u dedicate a song to my sister fong fong wishing her a happy birthday tomorrow. Thanks

I will celebrate Moon Festival in Hong Kong this year, but will try to catch the Terracotta Army when I come back. I think it is very important to show our kids our history. If Spectrum Radio is organising mass party I will join in too. Because usualy at Spectrum's party you get to win lot of prizes.

August 12th, 2007 at 6:04 pm
Sadly most Child genius never get the recognition they needed and the one who get supported peak far too early and get bored of life far too young. I am glad to be average.
:)

My son is a bit of a child genius. He get bored very easily because the teacher is too slow for him. But I would prefer he has a normal education than taking A level at 9. He has a long time to do that. I want him to enjoy life as a child when he is a child.
August 12th, 2007 at 6:07 pm
House Trashing Party is a crazy stunt for English kids. I don't think Chinese parents will ever allow their kids to have parties like that. We prefer FOOD party and big banquet, not dance party
August 12th, 2007 at 6:09 pm
MAy be we should raise some money to help the little girl's family so they can study in Oxford. Seems a shame that talents are wasted because of their lack of funds.
August 12th, 2007 at 6:10 pm
August 12th, 2007 at 6:11 pm
HELP! I want to watch Mr Hong Kong. Do you know how? I am a fan of Mr Yuen.
August 12th, 2007 at 6:11 pm
What a sad story. I am glad I on't have to take A level so that my brothe r can study in Oxford. Sound like the world has gone mad. We study not just to get A level. We grew up with friends, learn social skills in school too.

I have been a gate-crasher a few time. People don't care who you are at many of this party. When you are at party mood you won't care to check people's ID before you let them in. Anyway, other people usually open the door, so you won't know who is coming. I think if you are too scare of people causing problems at your house.then don't have party. If you are going to have fun, then be prepare to clean up the mess afterwards
