I don't think Chinese people ever retire. Many Chinese people of retirement age still work in the restaurants and takeaway. Having work all their life, it is hard to stay home doing nothing.
About the police, we know we should call them when we have trouble at the shops but often they take a long time to arrive. And even when they come they can't do much

I think the Tony Blair story is just a PR spin story. No one in this day and age will be so alien with mobile phone. I think he is trying to make people feel he is down to earth. Anyway he is not really retire, he is trying to re-invent himself with all the Middle East projects

I wish i was there to take some free cash. If I make a mistake with my payments in my bank account, the bank come down really heavy on the bank charges. Now they have made a mistake, it is time they pay the price for it too.

It is cool to see Katie Leung playing Chang Cho. We need more Chinese actors and actress on screen.

I sign the petition for Richard Chang's case in Chinatown. It is a very complex case, and it is hard to grasp all the facts, but I think one fact is very clear, the original investigation was totally unsatisfactory and the police really fail the family. They need to put their hands up, admit their faults and open a public enquiry ASAP.

I am still waiting for my boyfriend to take me to Harry Potter. I grew up with Harry Potter too. So I go to see the new movies every year like a tradition. When I see Katie Leung, she remind me of Lucy Lui. I think she will be as big if she get a good part after Harry Potter. I am afraid I don't read the book, far too many pages LOL.
And if Mr Tony Blair has any problem on his Motorola, please ask him to contact me, because my last 3 mobile are Motorola. I can show him a few shortcuts

Have anyone tried to ask the bank for bank charges back? Any successful cases? I am thinking of doing it, but seems a lot of work

I think Harry Potter is like our 賀歲片, once a year we get to see all the biggest British actors on screen. Imelda Staunton who won Best Actress fro Vera Drake, Julie Walters, Emma Thompson, Helena Bonham Carter and the amazing Dame Maggie Smith are just fantastic to watch on screen. Ralph Fiennes is always cool as Voldemort. The child stars have all grew up and act really well. Ron is always funny and Daniel Radcliffe is becoming a true actor. The one really shine is of course Hermione. I think she will becomone of the greatest screen goddess in the future. Katies Leung has the Kissing scene this year, but I am afriad she didn't live up to my expectation from the book. just my 2 cents.

I live in Clerkenwell and I often use THAT HSBC machine, but I went shopping in Oxford Street with my Hong Kong friends that day so I missed it all!!!!
Please dedicate a song to my Hong Kong friends, Alan and Janet, They just got married and are in London for honeymoon. They will be leaving for Paris next Tuesday. I and my wife Judy want to wish them a happy honeymoon in Europe, and hope them growing old together till they both have white hair, Bai Tau Duo Lo!!! Thank you.

You don't see much news on Richard Chang's case in English newspaper. British media seems to focus on the negative news of the Chinese, but neglect the real stories!

I don't think we can rely on the police for help when we are face with racial abuse or discrimination in our shops, because they are so under staff. But when a life is involve, we really expect more, the deceased deserve more.

Just saw Harry Potter today. I always thought the HP series is a pale imitation of the Lord of the rings, but I guess it is good to see big budget production like this from time to time, it awakens the child in all of us.
And I agree, we need more Chinese Actors on the Screen. It is funny to see someone playing a illegal immigrant on Holby City last week, why can't they put him up in the role of a Doctor or in some other senior position. In the past we were always being sterotyped as some chefs or Triad gangster, now in 2007, we are still receiving the same treatment on the screens.

Just saw the Harry Potter film. Great stuff.. It does make a difference to see a Chinese face in the movies. would be better if she has a meatier role. I also saw the Holby episode on TV. The translation is a bit funny

Just want to add my comment on the Harry Potter debate. My son is a fan, but luckily he is not one to sleep outside the bookshop this week. I will for sure buy him a copy of the final book. It is a funny experience to see him collecting the whole set as he grows up. I think we all need something like this, something that mark a generation, when I was young I grew up with Chinese Martial Arts novel and it strengthen my relationship with book-reading. I hope my son will continue to love books too.
