Spectrum Radio joined force with City Showcase Music Festival and Shorty Productions in June 2007 to present an evening of spectacular sound and creativity. The Chinese Showcase opens up opportunities for emerging musical talents from those of East Asian heritage and gives an insight into what they have to offer in today’s ever musically aspired industry. Cherry Lee (the Bathroom Girl)

Cherry Lee is a 21 year old BBC (British Born Chinese) reading Economics and Development studies at SOAS University in London.

She loves music and dance since an early age, playing her first chords at 9 on the guitar, and composing her first song by 11.

"I remember the first song my Mum ever taught me on the guitar was House of the Rising Sun and from then onwards, I was hooked.", said Cherry.

Cherry choreographed dances a lot in high school and she now participates as regularly as she can in university dance shows in London.

She loves to read and travel and would rather spend her earnings on a flight ticket to somewhere exciting, rather than trendy clothes and the latest gadgets, hence she describe herself "a bit of a student tramp" but feels this status suits her just fine for the time being.

The past few years have seen Cherry travelled to many places, including New Zealand, South America, China, Malaysia, Europe, Dubai. She feels that anything is possible if you’re willing to work hard for it, and is heading to Central America to do aid work in Costa Rica for a month before travelling up to Mexico for a month.

Cherry started posting youtube videos of her performing original and cover songs as a hobby at the end of 2006 and has attracted many loyal fans. Her
songs are very personal and some of them might not be released out of respects for the privacy and/or feelings of the person it was written about/for.

Youtube star Terra Naomi has been a great inspiration and Cherry hopes to keep improving her songs and connecting to others through them.
